About fff
Fukuoka folk festival is a music event organized by the Fukuoka Music Aid, a specified non-profit organization.
OVERVIEW
We want to host an event that showcases the incredible talent of musicians active in Fukuoka to a wider audience, helping artists expand the scope of their activities!
And actually, I want to make it easier for people who haven’t known about the many live houses—both big and small—to discover them and visit, creating an environment that will further energize Fukuoka’s music scene!
This free-to-attend music event began with that very sentiment.
We are holding this event free of charge with the support of our sponsors and collaborators, hoping everyone in various circumstances can enjoy it.
We want our audience to enjoy music they don’t often hear on TV or radio, so we ask our performing musicians to focus primarily on original songs.
ABOUT THE TITLE
The title “fukuoka folk festival” embodies our desire to further embed the branding of “Folk = Fukuoka” in the hearts of Fukuoka citizens and people from other regions through this event. We aim to create an event that connects to a future where “Fukuoka’s Folk” becomes a source of pride for all citizens.
That said, the musicians we’ve invited to perform aren’t limited to so-called “folk singers.”
We believe inviting musicians from diverse genres will invigorate the scene, and we strive to create events that entertain a wider audience.
The abbreviation “fff” also projects the image of “folk songs that resonate with powerful sounds and messages in the listener’s heart,” drawing parallels to the musical term fortissimo.
